Competition Cams 252 XFI HR113 grind #08-464-8 is an amazing grind for this combination (They recommend 1.6 rockers but you have to stay with 1.5's for machined Vortec heads) 320+ HP with a huge torq curve of over 450 ft lbs between 2000-4000 RPM. An lt 4 camshaft for stock heads is a good choice for 300 horsepower, a gm hot cam will be better if you want to machine the valve guide's and spring seat's and change the springs. Send it to cfm technologies and let them work there magic for $95.00.įor the camshaft stay with a roller. The throttle body is more than adequate for 450 HP (I think it will flow 900 CFM with the throttle blade cleaned up). Clean up the pockets up if you have an overwhelming desire you can't control. Don't touch the heads it will hurt you more than you can help yourself.
